Red-Line Editing Services has a wide range of Full Editing Services to meet
your needs.
Plot and Character Development Editing
Many times, we receive manuscripts, which are grammatically clean that still
need an extra set of eyes to look for holes in the storyline or character
development. Our editors can assist you by highlighting the inconsistencies in
your work – what we at Red-Line Editing Services call blind-spots.
Because you are so intimately involved with your work, you may have difficulty
seeing where questions will arise in the reader's mind. Plot and Character
Development Editing specifically addresses this possibility, thus ensuring that
your manuscript flows smoothly and leaves the reader satisfied that he received
the entire story from start to finish. The editor indicates places where the
manuscript needs clarification, using comments in the margins of your Word
document file.
Copy Editing
Copy Editing strictly looks at grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling to
prepare your work for the submission editor’s scrutinizing eye. This service
does not include Plot and Character Development Editing.
Full Manuscript Editing
Full Manuscript Editing includes Plot and Character Development Editing as
well as Copy Editing. It is exactly like the New Author Introductory Package,
but includes the entire manuscript instead of just the first 20 pages. More
times than not, a single pass (one full set of red-lines and commentary) is all
you will need to have a publisher-ready manuscript that you can be proud of.
There are times, however, when significant additions to and or subtractions from
the narrative may give give you reason to believe that a second pass (an
additional set of red-lines) may be warranted. Anytime an author decides to
purchase a second set of red-lines, a substantial discount applies.
We base our rates on the Writer's Market and they fall between the industry low
and average rates to keep our fees competitive.
